February 25, 2026 The Georgia Supreme Court is in Play Kickass attorneys Jen Jordan and Miracle Rankin are running to replace conservative Justices Sarah Warren and Charlie Bethel By Nina Harris, Vote Save America Topics Key Race Alert Share Post Copy Link Facebook Bluesky Twitter Last year, Vote Save America helped flip two seats on Georgia’s conservative Public Service Commission (PSC)—the first state-wide, state-based wins for Democrats in over 20 years. We invest in winning races for bodies like the PSC because they build long-term progressive power and make a direct impact on people’s day-to-day lives, like lowering electricity costs. State Supreme Courts fall into the same category. As we’ve seen, they have the power to protect (or dismantle) rights to abortion, environmental protection, gender-affirming care, fair congressional maps, voting rights, and more. That’s why we’re turning our attention back to Georgia for their upcoming state Supreme Court election. This May, conservative Justices Sarah Warren and Charlie Bethel are up for election. Both justices have ruled to ban abortion, uphold voter suppression laws, and sat idle as the federal government raided a Fulton County election facility and attempted to erode our democracy. Not great! So, we want you to meet Miracle Rankin and Jen Jordan, the prominent attorneys who just entered the race to replace Justices Warren and Bethel. Miracle Rankin Miracle Rankin built her career advocating for individuals and families navigating complex legal challenges. She stands up to powerful corporations to secure justice for Georgians. A graduate of Spelman College and the University of Georgia School of Law, Rankin has served in leadership roles within Georgia’s legal community and was the 40th president of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys. Jen Jordan Jen Jordan, originally from Dodge County, has spent her legal career representing families by holding the powerful accountable. She previously served as a State Senator and ran for Attorney General in 2022. Jen and Miracle believe in the right to an abortion, and Georgia voters can count on them to protect their individual rights and freedoms. They believe that our democracy is best when it welcomes every eligible voter and that attacks to limit access to voting and to steal elections go against what it means to be a Georgian and an American. They also shared that everyone—no matter who they are, how powerful they are, or how rich they are—must be treated equally under the law. No favors, no loopholes, one law for every Georgian. That’s the energy we need right now! This is how big change starts: By successfully winning these two seats this May and then winning again in 2028, we can flip the Court well in advance of redistricting in 2030. Flipping Georgia’s Supreme Court would have been a fantastical proposition just a few years ago, but thanks to the non-stop work of Georgians, organizers, and leaders, we have a real opportunity. Let’s do this. Read more on the VSA blog
