• Why should I give when Democrats lost so bad in 2024?

  Fair enough. The result of these losses has been an unelected billionaire ransacking the government, freaky tech boys harvesting our private data, and Republicans eliminating our health care so Elon can have some more tax breaks. We need as many people as possible aware of how BAD things are, but we exist in a media ecosystem dominated by right-wing billionaires. It’s going to take a lot of time, money, and attention to sound the alarms, protect people in Trump’s line of fire, and build the bench of future leaders to stop him. Vote Save America has the scale and the audience to help lead this fight and that’s why we need your support.

• What type of organization is Vote Save America?

  We are a hybrid Political Action Committee (PAC), also known as a Carey PAC. This means that we can raise unlimited funds into our non-contribution account for independent expenditures and make direct contributions to candidates, parties, and other political committees and organizations out of our contribution account. This allows us flexibility to support candidates and causes that align with our mission.

• How is donating to Vote Save America different from other organizations or candidates?

  First: we don’t spam.

  Second: We don’t sell your data to anyone else who will spam you. (yes, really!)

  Third: VSA is hyper-focused on impact. We have in-depth conversations with hundreds of campaigns and grassroots organizations across the country to understand how dollars will be spent and where it will go the furthest. 

  Fourth: our donation opportunities are dynamic. We are constantly adjusting our funds to reflect polling shifts, changes to candidates’ fundraising hauls, and as news breaks. We refuse to stand still!

• What does Vote Save America do with my money?

  Here’s how our process works: VSA has conversations with hundreds of partners from across the country to understand the stakes in each state and where progressive dollars can make the greatest impact. We then take those conversations and curate a list of the high-impact organizations and races to support. To date, we’ve raised $64M for dozens of progressive causes and candidates across the country. That money has been used to register voters, knock doors, mobilize volunteers ahead of Election Day, and more.

  If you’re contributing to a fund that supports Vote Save America, we use those dollars to support our operations and to build out our programming to reach as many voters and volunteers as possible. Read more here about how dollars are distributed via our Anxiety Relief Program.

• How does VSA work with ActBlue? Why does VSA use ActBlue for donations?

  ActBlue is an online fundraising platform that works with Democratic candidates up and down the ballot, progressive organizations, and nonprofits. ActBlue is free for organizations to use, minus a processing fee that applies to donations. Also, ActBlue makes it easy for donors to split a contribution between multiple groups or campaigns. Don’t believe the far-right BS – ActBlue does a lot of good work and helps hundreds of campaigns and organizations reach grassroots donors.

• Can I remain anonymous when donating?

  No, as a political committee, federal law requires Vote Save America to report the name, address, occupation, and employer of each of our donors. If you prefer that your personal information not be disclosed, consider making a donation to Vote Save America Action, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization that is not required to disclose donor information.

• What’s the deal with the Anxiety Relief Program?

  In January 2024, VSA launched our first-ever recurring donations initiative and called it the Anxiety Relief Program. Read more about the program and where we’ve donated here.

• Can I make a recurring donation?
