As the fastest growing constituency in America, they have massive power to demand change for our country. But a lot of LGBTQ+ youth are feeling burnt out on politics. The hard-won rights and visibility that they grew up being able to enjoy are under constant attack from the Trump administration, MAGA Republicans, and a radicalized Supreme Court majority. Meanwhile, they’re dealing with all the other existential issues that marks this generations’ coming of age: the global pandemic, rising cost of living, unregulated AI taking entry-level jobs, the climate crisis, you name it. This is where OutVote comes in. Isaac James and Ranen Miao became friends after meeting as undergraduate Point Scholars in 2020. During the 2024 election cycle, they saw their peers becoming more and more disillusioned with electoral politics, even as attacks on LGBTQ+ rights were intensifying. Isaac and Ranen co-founded OutVote to disrupt this cycle and give young LGBTQ+ voters tools to get organized, build power, and elect leaders that represent their needs. Since then, OutVote has reached millions of young voters nationwide, hosted dozens of mobilization events, and built a broad coalition of partners to tap into the electoral power of LGBTQ+ Gen Zers. One of their most exciting initiatives is the OutVote Fellowship Program, which trains and supports young LGBTQ+ organizers in competitive congressional districts where turning out young voters is essential. Last week, OutVote announced their 2026 cohort, who will be working to mobilize their communities in key districts in North Carolina, Iowa, and Michigan. Partnerships with kickass organizations like OutVote are a core part of how Vote Save America makes an impact in the races we need to flip the House, take back the Senate, and finally put a check on Trump’s power.
