WE DID IT! We took back the House and Senate.

A Democratic majority in Congress means we can finally begin to fix what Trump has broken and rebuild an America that honors our fundamental freedom and rights.

This victory is all thanks to thousands of volunteers and activists like you who made your voices heard and helped get your community to the polls! Below is an outline of our 2026 midterms strategy and target races.

Our Plan to Take Back Congress

Welcome to VSA’s campaign to flip the House and take back the Senate. (Spoiler—it worked!)

We prioritized Congressional races that:

  • Were in states or areas with other competitive races at the top or down the ballot, so our efforts could have a bigger overall impact
  • Have Republican incumbents who haven’t faced strong competition before
  • Were truly winnable, whether they were very close last cycle or are in places that are typically more conservative
  • Reflected new redistricting realities across the country
  • Were in places where VSA community members like you are likely to live or know people who live there

We tailor our support to make the biggest difference in each race, using a mix of funding, volunteers, and storytelling.
