Shaniqua McClendon

President, Vote Save America

Shaniqua McClendon has worked in politics for more than a decade, she began her career as a White House Intern for President Barack Obama. She then went on to Capitol Hill where she served as a policy advisor to Senator Kay R. Hagan and Legislative Director to Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, where she spearheaded the creation of the first-ever Congressional Bipartisan HBCU Caucus. She currently serves as President of Vote Save America. Under her leadership, Vote Save America has educated millions of voters, recruited hundreds of thousands of volunteers and raised millions of dollars for progressive causes and candidates.

What’s Vote Save America?

Our mission is to help build a movement that brings as many Americans as possible together not just to win on Election Day, but to fight every day in between for an America that honors basic freedoms, the rule of law, equality, and democracy itself.

In a fractured media landscape, against a vast rightwing social media and propaganda apparatus, in a cynical time when many have lost faith in politics, that is no small challenge. But what we believe is that it’s a challenge we can meet together, and that doing together, even in a dark moment – that’s actually the fun part.
