This isn’t Politics as Usual: Support Prop 50 on Nov. 4th

How we got here

Earlier this summer, President Trump told Texas Republicans to find him five more GOP seats in the U.S. House. They immediately followed orders and used a special legislative session (originally meant to deliver relief to flood victims!) to redraw their map. Other Republican states have become emboldened by Texas and are now following suit.

In response, Gov. Gavin Newsom asked the California legislature to draw new congressional maps that could neutralize Texas’ five new seats, potentially gaining up to 9 Democratic seats in the U.S. House. The measure to approve these maps, called Prop 50, will go before California voters on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4th.

If Californians don’t act, Donald Trump could hang onto the House and hold onto total power for two more years. Let’s not let that happen, ok? Ok.

Take Action: Talk to Your Friends about Prop 50!

The Yes on Prop 50 team needs you to talk to your people about the special election utilizing Reach, a grassroots app that lets you track who you’ve talked to, what their voting plan is, and if they’ve voted.

If you’ve never used Reach before, we recommend signing up for a Community Connectors training first (see below).

Important: Please join the Election Rigging Response Act Reach campaign using the Campaign Key ‘VANRAD’, not the code they share in the training slide.

What exactly is the Election Rigging Response Act?

The ERRA is a direct—but temporary—response to the outright cheating of Trump and Texas Republicans. It will appear as Prop 50 on Californian’s ballots on Election Day, and it ensures voters’ voices aren’t silenced by Republican gerrymandering in other states.
