Home Vote YES on Prop 50 November 4th Vote YES on Prop 50 November 4th What Exactly is the Election Rigging Response Act? Prop 50 is how the Election Rigging Response Act will appear on California voters’ ballots on Election Day. It is a direct—but temporary—response to the outright cheating of Trump and Texas Republicans ahead of the midterms, and it ensures voters aren’t silenced by Republican gerrymandering in other states. The best way to help pass Prop 50 is to VOTE YES if you’re in California. The second best way is to contact people in your network about it! You don’t have to live in California to take action. The Reach app is being used to easily get in touch with the people you know. If you’ve used the app before, get started below. If not, no worries. Keep reading for instructions! They immediately followed orders and used a special legislative session (originally meant to deliver relief to flood victims!) to redraw their map. Other Republican states have become emboldened by Texas and are now following suit. In response, Gov. Gavin Newsom asked the California legislature to draw new congressional maps that could neutralize Texas’ five new seats, potentially gaining up to 9 Democratic seats in the U.S. House. The measure to approve these maps, called Prop 50, will go before California voters on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4th. If Californians don’t act, Donald Trump could hang onto the House and hold onto total power for two more years. Let’s not let that happen, ok? Ok. Learn more
